Sunset Cruise Review: Maxi Catamaran in Marina Baie Des Anges

Dreaming of the French Riviera? A sunset cruise could very well be the thing for you. I’m talking, seriously, crystal-clear water, a fancy catamaran, and the sun turning the sea into what seems like liquid gold. I went on a sunset trip on a maxi catamaran, specifically, near Marina Baie Des Anges, and that, for sure, made for some pretty incredible memories. So, if you’re looking for a way to chill and see some absolutely awesome scenery, then this might be it. Setting Sail from Villeneuve-Loubet

We started out in Villeneuve-Loubet, a really beautiful place that is, more or less, right next to the Marina Baie Des Anges. This marina is seriously something. It’s actually, like, this huge architectural project, shaped almost like a wave, that just sort of dominates the coastline. Arriving there early meant that you are able to stroll around a bit, and grab a coffee, maybe, at one of the cafés, taking in the, like, yachts and the very vibrant atmosphere before the cruise even begins. It all gets you a little more ready to just relax and take it all in.

The maxi catamaran itself was seriously impressive. Loads of space to move around, comfy seating, and, just as a heads up, a crew that really knew what they were doing. The staff were actually, like, super welcoming, offering drinks and, naturally, filling us in on some safety tips as soon as we got aboard. This is all fairly essential for any boat trip, so no one goes overboard as such. It, more or less, set a very easy-going and friendly vibe that just lasted the whole, you know, outing. Just a suggestion for you.

Cruising the Azure Coast

Setting off onto the water, the views got incredible almost instantly. The Azure Coast, or Côte d’Azur, to give it it’s original name, very much lives up to its name. The sea was a genuinely, like, unbelievable shade of blue. And there are dramatic cliffs, along with lush greenery, that really do make the scenery quite spectacular. What you need to bring with you? My recommendation? A camera, so that you get the perfect Instagram shot.

We just cruised at a very gentle speed. This allowed everybody to just properly chill and absorb their beautiful surroundings. The sound of the waves was relaxing, just hearing the wind in the sails was a really soothing experience. It, apparently, almost felt like you were, sort of, floating on this, giant, luxurious platform. Along the way, the crew would actually, sometimes, point out some of the points of interest, giving us, naturally, a bit of background on the local history. They had local knowledge, so they seemed quite knowledgeable. Apparently they knew where to point out some secluded bays and the villas that the rich and famous had purchased, which was cool.

Sunset Spectacle at Sea

Of course, the highlight of the whole trip was definitely the sunset. As the sun began to get nearer to the horizon, that, for real, the sky transformed into this amazing canvas of bright colors. Shades of pink, orange, and purple just streaked across the sky. Naturally, they were reflected on the calm surface of the Mediterranean. That is, without a doubt, worth paying good money for. The way the light played off the water and the coastline, really, for sure, made it magical. Every person on board, I assume, just sort of fell silent, really, enjoying the moment.

There were people all over the place taking pics. Some, also, just enjoying a quiet moment with friends, with family, or, naturally, loved ones. The catamaran really was in a great position to give everyone just like, an unobstructed view, wherever they were sitting. This is something that would make me want to use this trip again if I go back, it did impress me a bit. I just kept the view in my head now I am back to work.

Maxi Catamaran Comfort and Amenities

What made the trip extra special, too, was how comfortable the maxi catamaran was. There was so much room to walk around and so many spots to chill out, too. There were sunbeds up front for those people that were keen to catch those last rays. Also, that’s really my recommendation for getting a tan whilst still doing something. The shaded lounge areas did offer a nice, cool spot to sit. That really, honestly, helped to not burn during the cruise. The seating was honestly very plush, as well, and I ended up, kind of, taking a nap when the sunset was over. So, what’s not to like?

The catamaran even had, apparently, a sound system. This played chilled music, which made the atmosphere a lot more laid-back, I have to say. The crew kept drinks and snacks flowing all, you know, the time. That added, also, a touch of luxury to the entire experience. They had, typically, wine, soft drinks, and water. The wine wasn’t too shabby at all. To top it all off, there was a bathroom on board, too, which meant that there weren’t any really unpleasant surprises during the whole, you know, cruise. Everything had been really thought out.

Last Thoughts

In total, the ‘Marina Baie Des Anges Sunset at Sea’ trip on that maxi catamaran turned out to be an unforgettable thing to do. It, possibly, combined a stunning setting, which was Villeneuve-Loubet, with the undeniable beauty of the French Riviera coastline. The absolute best of all was that sunset, but the cruise just added the cherry on the cake. A friendly crew and a seriously comfy boat, as well, just made it so special.

Someone planning their dream vacation might wish to make the best of this opportunity. Taking it may very well prove a wise decision in the end, too, for anyone after a bit of luxury on the water. So there’s not really too much to consider and get ready for now you’ve finished reading!
